Development of sensor-based technologies for precise farm input application and quality control in post-harvest processing

  • Image based variable rate nitrogen applicator for granular (tractor drawn) as well as liquid (knapsack) applications has been developed for wheat and paddy crops.
  • Rigourous field testing and design refinement is going on at present.

Development of AI/IoT Based intelligent Irrigation System for Field Crops

  • A micro controller based smart irrigation system has been developed which could be operated with input data from soil moisture sensor and cloud rainfall forecasting data.
  • The aforesaid AI/IoT based intelligent irrigation system could save 11.4 to 22.7% of water as compared to ET based irrigation scheduling in maize crop.
